Although the location is beautiful, and the staff is friendly enough, I would never stay here again or recommend it. The campsites are so small and compacted together that there is zero privacy. The bathrooms are dirty, and ran out of toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels. They let anyone come shower there, even if they aren't paying to camp there. My boyfriend informed me that a man walked into the shower area peed and spit on the ground in there. Also, there is no one there in the office at night, so if you have a problem there isn't anything you can do. I tried reaching out on Facebook, posting and PMing the campground and calling the phone number about how noisy our neighbors were past midnight and then they woke up before 6 am and were even louder. We got about 2 hours of sleep due to the noisy campers across from us and because the wind there is so bad that it makes tent camping impossible. Overall, it was a bad experience, and we would not camp there again. We left by 6:30 am.
It is 5:30 in the morning and a large group of kids have pulled in in a pickup. They continue to laugh and talk. No sleep for the weary. Last night people walked about laughing and talking til well after midnight. Some guy pulled into the spot next to us about midnight, threw his sleeping bag on the ground, then more noise just before dawn as he took off, lights blasting into our trailer. The camp sites back right up against the road, literaaly, so that it feels like every passing car is roaring through your bed. Cars in and out of the campground til all hours. Miserable night. Would rate with zero stars but not one of the options.
Campsites are tiny and not private. Next to a road, fortunately not a busy one. On the other hand it is right on the Wapato lake. Owners are very friendly. You can rent a boat real cheap or buy fishing supplies. Overall pleasant experience if you come there for fishing, don't see any reason to stay there otherwise.
I come here every year with my family. We love the fishing and that you may rent boats. The staff is very kind.
BEAUTIFUL location and the staff is just MARVELOUS! SO friendly and helpful! We will definitely be back!
